Happy March Madness, everyone! I'm currently watching the Big East tournament, and I love this time of year. Here are some pizza-related news and notes for you to read between games.
-Mellow Mushroom in Louisville is having a Bracket Challenge for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. It's online through cbssports.com, and you can fill out up to three brackets. I fully intend on filling all three, and I want you to join me! The winner gets a $1000 prize after it's all said and done, and anybody can win. The link to the Mellow Mushroom competition is here. (Note: you need to sign up with cbssports.com. It's free and pretty quick.) The password to get into the group is mayhem. My entry name is PickyPizzaEaters1, I think. The deadline is next Thursday morning, before all the games start.
-Mellow Mushroom also has Pint Night on game nights like this. Tonight they were serving Kentucky Ale Bourbon Barrel Ale Stout and Town Branch Bourbon.
-I discovered a new website from my friend Kameryn today on facebook: "Cooking for Engineers." As an engineer, I'm appalled that we need our own cooking website, yet excited at the exclusivity of it all. Recipes just for us! Currently, I haven't seen any pizza recipes on there yet, so I assume they haven't finished building the website. Anything non-pizza is considered appetizers or dessert, as far as I'm concerned.
-The breakfast pizza idea has caught on in Texas, apparently.
-Tacos are doing better than pizza in today's market, according to local Yum! brands. I blame it on the Doritos Tacos. (If you haven't had one yet, GO. NOW. Grab me one, too.)
That's all I have for tonight! Go Cards! #BeatNova
